The General Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient and profitable operation of a club with a focus on driving membership sales and customer service. The General Manager will also work closely with and receive direction and guidance from the Operations Director and manager the Fitness Director. The General Manager manages the club staff, which includes; a Fitness Director and team of personal trainers, a team of sales professionals, and group exercise instructors, cleaning team, and babysitters.

Minimum Requirements


Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of management experience in a sales/revenue generation environment, including direct experience in profit and loss management and people management
  • Fitness club management experience not required
  • Physical demands include ability to regularly walk through all areas of the club, climbing stairs (where applicable), and bending and lifting (e.g., picking up towels, restacking of weights, moving of equipment as necessary)
  • Must be able to work at least 50 hours per week, or other hours necessitated by business need
  • AED/CPR Certification (preferred)
  • BA or BS degree (preferred)
