Business Area Description
- The mission of the Professional Practice Team is to ensure that the level of pharmacy practice exhibited by our retail pharmacy teams meets or exceeds the standards and expectations set by government regulators, payers, business partners, and most importantly - our patients.
- The Professional Practice Analytics Internship resides within the Professional Practice Analytics group in Retail Pharmacy. Our analytics team utilizes big data on a daily basis to forensically identify potential cases of fraud, anomalous patterns, and concerning prescribing habits.

What You’ll Do
- The candidate selected for this position will be a contributor in the development and production of complex analytics and reporting suites that will inform critical decisions affecting the retail pharmacy business.
- Develop and maintain data models which monitor controlled substance prescribing and dispensing
- Develop metrics, dashboards, and/or presentations for field teams and senior leadership.
- Develop hypotheses and conducting analyses of complex issues related to stores, prescribers, and patients.
- The cornerstone project for this role will consist of using chain-wide pharmacy data to create impactful models that will highlight patterns of controlled substance prescribing.

Career Path
- Most MBAs start at the Advisor level post internship and depending on performance, qualifications, and interest can advance to a Senior Advisor or move laterally to an Advisor role in a different part of the business to gain additional experience.
- We offer a competency based FTE development program once you start your role.

Required Qualifications
- Ability to work full time for the duration of the 10 week program: June 3rd-August 10th

- Minimum of 1 year of code writing experience in SQL, Python, or Spark.
-Minimum of 6 months experience with statistics; ideally work experience, will consider class experience.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience required; ideally including stints at a strategic consulting firm or a health care company in a product/business development function.

Preferred Qualifications
- Major in statistics, computer science, economics, mathematics, or another STEM program
- Data experience with SAS, SQL, Tableau, Excel, or other analytical tools
- Strong Interest in Health Care: A demonstrated interest in the health care industry and an ongoing desire to make one of the world’s strongest health care companies even stronger
- Structured & Logical Thinking: The ability to identify and define business problems and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analysis and/or measure success
- Analytical Rigor: Proven capability conducting and managing quantitative portfolio and growth analysis; highest level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting priorities as needed, and meeting deadlines
- Powerful Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of constituents, both verbally and on paper, and with all levels of an organization
- Team Leadership: A highly developed ability to manage, develop, and mentor more junior team members to successfully evaluate complex business opportunities
- Initiative: Ability to think creatively and be a self-starter with limited guidance and coaching and to proactively develop and present potential solutions; demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity or uncertainty, and ability to learn on the fly to understand and solve new problems
- Influence: The ability to foster effective working relations with and persuade diverse business leaders based on fact and reason with an emphasis on achieving tangible results
- Customer Oriented: A passion for understanding and meeting the needs of the customer
- Office Proficiency: Experience using Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point
- High level of independent judgment and initiative
- Experience creating presentations for projects and/or studies and providing overviews for groups of colleagues and leadership

- Candidates must be enrolled in a full time 2 year MBA program with an expected graduation of May 2020
