The Advisor IT Systems is responsible for the techno-functional impact analysis, design & code construction activities of software development for Retail Pharmacy systems releases. Strong technical and functional skills are key to perform this role successfully. The current list of systems includes multiple applications including, but not limited, to the Tier 1 systems for Retail Pharmacy. The Advisor will partner and work with the Development Manager, collaborate with Developers, Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects, and Project Managers to integrate changes into Java based business applications software. The Advisor will be involved throughout the entire development life cycle of a product and must be able to identify and analyze any issues or problems and be able to come up with an efficient solution.

Required Qualifications
* Advance object-oriented design and design patterns
* Effective documentation of designs
* Expert Java programming knowledge - JDK 1.7/1.8
* Knowledge of open source packages especially those provided by Apache, Google, and Spring
* Background on web and application servers such as Tomcat, Weblogic or comparable J2EE servers
* Strong background on Web Services (SOAP, REST), JMS, J2EE and/or Spring frameworks
* Knowledge of build/dependency management tools such as Maven, SCM (Subversion, GIT)
* Database knowledge - SQL, table structure, data relationships

Preferred Qualifications
* Overall 5+ years of professional IT experience
* A minimum of 5 years software development and requirement analysis, design experience
* A minimum of 1 year successfully working in IT projects in an Agile development methodology
* Works with a sense of urgency in completing tasks and resolving issues in order to deliver a quality project on time and within budget
* Experience of working on multiple IT projects on varying technology stacks
* Proven experience as a software Designer and Developer in understanding business requirements and translating into software solutions
* Development experience for projects delivered via Waterfall, Agile, and/or XP methodologies

* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Technical field or comparable work experience required
* Master’s in Computer Science related program preferred
