Job Description
The Senior Director will report to the Vice President of Inventory Management and will work alongside other VP and Senior Director leaders within Supply Chain. This Senior Director is responsible for leading the inventory planning team for a specific business unit and working collaboratively with Merchandising and other internal partners to design an overall inventory strategy for the company that drives in-stock and margin, optimizes inventory, creates efficiencies for our Distribution Centers and provides a bold advantage within the industry. Ultimately, this role must balance our customer experience and expectations for in stock while delivering the financial accountabilities to the company.
-Collaborating with internal and external partners to drive continuous process improvement and enable best-in-class management of an increasingly interconnected supply chain
-Developing and achieving inventory targets, service metrics and enterprise EBIT growth goals
-Establish effective partnerships with the vendor community to include: collaborating, communicating, and negotiating to ensure strategies are aligned for the necessary business outcomes
-Consistently seek and use market and industry intelligence to develop, strengthen and optimize our network
-Immersion into all facets of retail business including field operations, supply chain, merchandising
-Advanced influencing skills with the ability to incorporate diverse points of views into his/her thinking, align disparate perspectives and lead change across functional silos
-Ability to receive feedback and adapt behaviors and plans accordingly
-Build and manage a high performing team in inventory management, create succession plans and recruit for new and diverse talent in order to support the organizational needs
-Manage the engagement and professional development of the Inventory Planners on the team
-Develop and cultivate effective collaboration with cross functional stakeholders
-Willingness to travel 10-15%

Required Qualifications
-10+ years relevant experience in retail or supply chain leadership roles

Preferred Qualifications
-Master’s Degree in Supply Chain or MBA preferred
-Supply Chain Certification an asset- RSSC, CSCMP or APICS preferred
-Deep understanding of our business, industry, and the inter-relationships between stakeholders
-Superior eye for business and understanding of corporate financials
-Strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact
-Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and think on his/her feet. Keen ability to distill complex ideas into simpler frameworks and illustrations
-Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
-Demonstrated ability to vision the future state, test hypotheses, and synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable strategies and tactical plans
-Structured problem solving skills with the ability to create order out of ambiguity
-Results driven, with a desire to work in a fast paced environment
-Team building proficiency, demonstrating an ability to organize defined work streams, load balance across resources, develop team members and inspire high performance
-Prior successes leading, developing and engaging a large team
