As a key member of the transformation team, the Director of transformation (Product Development) will play a critical role in defining the future state of care delivery and the ideal consumer experience model for our company. Responsibilities will include participating in the ideation and development of solutions that will comprise the physical and digital manifestations of the transformation strategy. This work will involve building business cases to support buy / build decisions for necessary capabilities and overseeing the partnership development process for key vended solutions. In addition, the Director will work extensively across internal stakeholders to ensure existing BU roadmaps are accounted for and supported by transformation’s product roadmap. The Director role will require significant executive presence, presentation creation and delivery skills, and the ability to make connections across disciplines and levels of seniority. The Director of Transformation will report directly to the Senior Director of transformation, with exposure to and engagement with executives from the VP to the C-Suite levels.

Primary responsibilities include:

* Participate in solution ideation process, including leading interviews with key internal stakeholders (VP level and above) and overseeing primary and secondary external research (inclusive of potential ethnographic consumer research or rapid online survey development and deployment) 20%
* Coordinate with relevant stakeholders across business units to understand existing product capabilities and planned BU roadmaps to inform buy / build decisions for capabilities deemed necessary to achieve transformation’s purpose 10%
* Oversee the quantitative analysis and business case development required to communicate investment needs and secure funding for both discrete point solutions and partnership opportunities 10%
* Oversee partner identification and development to secure point solutions that will not be built within CVS; responsibilities would include:
o Finding companies who can provide specific point solutions and working with them to secure a partnership to offer their solution as part of the broader transformation effort
o Meeting with high-level executives of both CVS (e.g., our HR and benefits department) as well as top ranking executives at any of the target vendors
o Oversee the structuring of a strategic partnership arrangement, contract negotiations, and eventual implementation with help from relevant partners in legal and operations 50%
* Support preparation for and present at meetings up to and including Executive Vice Presidents and C-Suite executives to ensure input is solicited and incorporated at key development milestones 10%

Required Qualifications
* 8+ years of work experience, with strong preferences for some combination of:
- Management consulting experience focused on healthcare strategy
- In-house corporate strategy experience within healthcare
- Strategic planning and / or strategic portfolio management within healthcare

Preferred Qualifications
* Strong communicator, both verbal and written, with executive presence and the ability to influence across functions and at all levels of an organization
* Demonstrated presentation skills, including familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint; MS Project experience a bonus but not required
* Highly organized and able to provide positive leadership across multiple work streams in a fast-paced, complex working environment
* Demonstrated project management skills with an emphasis on integrating multiple work outputs into a unified deliverable and executive narrative
* Demonstrated organized, detail-oriented, and structured thinking and execution, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities as needed in order to meet deadlines, demonstrating a high level of independent judgment and proactivity

Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preffered
