Job Description
The requirements and duties of an Epic Cogito Administrator are focused on three areas: 1) Management, 2) Monitoring, and 3) Support of the Epic Cogito Environment.

1) Management of the Epic Cogito environment that includes the following Epic applications:
· Epic Clarity console and database
· Epic Caboodle (formerly known as the Cogito Data Warehouse) console and database.
· Epic SlicerDicer application
· Epic Crystal Integration which incorporates Business Objects and Crystal reports as part of its architecture

2) Monitor the Epic Cogito systems environment which includes:
· Monitoring day-to-day ETL jobs and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
· Monitor database growth and work with DBAs and Epic TS representatives to maintain overall database health and availability.

3) Support the Epic Cogito application environment which includes:
· Work with various reporting and development teams with regard to all things related to the databases (managing/adding new objects, gaining database access, act as a subject matter expert for Epic databases)
· Incorporating/retrofitting Epic processes into the CVS architecture when conflicts arise.
· Applying Epic upgrades and RAs where needed.
· Monitoring and troubleshooting any and all issues affecting the Cogito environment such as server issues, database outages, server patching, etc.

The Epic Cogito Administrator will also:
· Contribute on large scale projects and ensure the high quality outcomes of assigned projects and requests
· Participate and work with CVS teams and vendors to implement, enhance and upgrade Epic Software and related software technologies
· Monitor System performance across multiple application and web servers
· Perform vulnerability remediation and implement SSL encryption to enhance security
· Maintain library of technical documents and ensure adherence to security policies and internal processes
· Make technical recommendations related to security and application upgrade considerations.
· Analyze system and application logs to identify software issues
· Provide 24x7 production support services (as required)

Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
2+ years of experience with Epic Clarity and Epic Caboodle.
2+ years experience in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in working with reporting and analytical environments that have implemented Epic applications
· Familiarity with Business Objects, and Crystal Reports preferred
· Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server tools such as SSMS, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
· Familiarity with Windows 2012/2016 Server environment
· Understanding of network concepts and security as it applies to accessing databases within an enterprise setting
· Understand of Microsoft SQL databases, demonstrated experience with SQL
· Demonstrated strong interpersonal, relationship building/relationship management and facilitation skills
· Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and methodologies
· Experience in backend testing writing SQL, understanding of data relationship
· Understanding of batch processing and familiar with batch scheduling tool (Control M preferred)
· Understanding Database design concepts with regard to the relationship of instance/database/schema along with the database objects (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, etc.)
· Understanding of Database Administrator (DBA) roles and responsibilities
· Experience in offshore/onshore model and understanding of relational data models
· Flexibility to handle directional changes and balance priorities to ensure product success
· Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and communications skills
· Ability to work effectively with developers, business analysts, and system administrators

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or technology related field or equivalent work experience required.
