Student Intern Training & Development Department

Amica Insurance, located in Lincoln, RI, is seeking an intern for our Training and Development Department. Candidates should be enrolled or entered into their senior year seeking a Bachelor s degree in any major. This is a paid internship comprised of 10 structured hours per week to be spent at our corporate office (presumably over 2 days) to learn and assist with Amica s core business functions, as well as 5 independent hours spent on the candidate s college campus to act as a student ambassador for Amica. (Totaling 15 hours per week in the Fall semester)

Job Responsibilities:

* Assist the recruiting team
* Support the team in their workflow efforts in recruiting entry-level management candidates

* Participate in training sessions
* Learn the fundamentals of insurance as well as Amica s products and services

* Observe sales and claims operations in our Service Center Operations East
* Listen to incoming/outgoing calls

* Shadow current employees
* Assist Adjusters in claims investigations
* Learn underwriting practices from Account Managers
* Aid Training Specialists in specialized projects by creating/modifying training materials

* Be a student ambassador
* Host on-campus events
* Promote sponsorship opportunities
* Participate in classroom presentations
* Enhance Amica s brand awareness on campus

* Create a final presentation
* Develop and present an on-campus branding strategy for future student ambassadors to follow

Requirements:

* Enrolled or entered into senior year seeking a Bachelor s degree any major
* Experience with Microsoft Office products
* Ability to effectively plan and manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously
* Ability to work well within a team
* Strong communication and leadership skills
