Clinical Nutrition Specialist (Per Diem)
The Clinical Nutrition Specialist provides care to Hospital and CNE Wellness Program clients, particularly those with multiple and complex health and therapeutic nutritional needs requiring expertise in specialized areas of nutrition such as cardiovascular rehabilitation and/or diabetes. The incumbent assesses needs, develops and implements individual care plans, and coordinates delivery of nutrition and related services. Develops and implements new programs, provides nutrition education, and assists in administrative duties of Department, including quality assurance activities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in community/clinical nutrition, with additional training in area of specialty and one year of experience in clinic in health care facility or community nutrition required. Master's degree preferred. Must have and maintain Registered Dietitian status and meet state licensure requirements. Proficiency in the English language is required, with fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish or sign language desirable. Excellent keyboard dexterity in the use of reports on the personal computer. For diabetes specialty, must have additional training in diabetes mellitus, and have and maintain certification CDE and/or CDOE. For Wellness Center, must have education in Exercise Science and/or Sports Nutrition and be certified in Basic Life Support and/or ACSM Certified Health and Fitness Instructor with certification in Personal Training preferred.
