Reports to the Food Service Director. Plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to food service complying with the standards established by ARAMARK Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client mainly focusing on food production and retail including culinary operations, overseeing ordering, inventory, food safety, menu planning, catering, merchandising, marketing, cash handling, monitoring performance and cash handling. Additionally implementing and maintaining standards such as operations excellence and conversion to room service. . Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees. Level of impact is within own operation.

Key Responsibilities

* Delivers strong operational performance by executing against ARAMARK Healthcare and regulatory agency standards and programs, continually monitoring operations, and completing assessments and necessary action plans to provide optimal food quality and meal service.
* Drives patient and customer satisfaction and maintains client relationships through rounding.
* Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
* Supervises, staffs, trains, conducts applicable rounding and manages the performance of the Food Service Supervisors and front line staff regarding food presentation, quality, cost control and cash handling.
* Manages and controls labor, resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply, staffing levels and cost control within budgetary guidelines.
* Responsible for scheduling and managing food service activities in compliance with ARAMARK Healthcare food service systems.
* Utilize customer feedback to respond to customer/patient needs and to improve services.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor Degree in Culinary Arts, Institutions Management, Foods and Nutrition or other related fields, plus a minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant food service management experience preferrably within healthcare. Culinary management experience required and Retail experience a plus. Ability to identify defects in the preparation and service of food and implement improved quality control procedures required. Candidate will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with clients, customers, patients/residents, and support staff. Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications required. P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
